Troubleshooting the KIC Bookeye scanners

Deal with freezes and crashes on the KIC Bookeye scanners by restarting the computer and scanner:

  • Shut down the computer- push the blue button on the panel on the right of the back cabinet
  • Shut down the scanner- press the power button on the front panel
  • Complete the restart- turn on the computer by pressing the same button and press the power button on the scanner. Once everything powers up (make sure the document scanner is also on) select the KIC software on the desktop and wait for the scanner interface to load
  • Please do not unplug scanner from the electrical outlet 

NOTE: If the scanner crashes in the middle of scan, those documents scanned cannot be recovered
