Banner Health Access Issues: UA-licensed journal e-books and databases are no longer available automatically at computers within Banner-UMC. The sites require a UA NetID login for access to restricted resources. Citations:

  • General citation and citation-management software questions, i.e. problems with Zotero/RefWorks/EndNote/Mendeley, refer students/faculty to their liaison librarian.

Collaborative Learning Spaces

  • Main Library: Web form http://new.library.arizona.edu/visit/spaces/request 
    • Use for requests for reserving the room by anyone wishing to reserve this space including UA instructors.  Reservations for this room are managed by our department. There is an online form at http://new.library.arizona.edu/visit/spaces/request.  Find it easily by using Search our site:  Library Instruction Room. The customer needs to make the contact; we do not mediate this as a rule. 
    • For follow-up questions, create a ticket for Ask Reference when referring from chat. In the Ask Us account, transfer to Room Requests queue. From a phone call, request the individual’s contact information, especially an e-mail address, and send an e-mail to library@arizona.edu.​
  • Weaver SEL 200S: For UA faculty who want to teach in this room, they should check the room schedule and can reserve it through RCS in Ad Astra

  • Use for UA customers who need specialized or advanced reference assistance that we cannot provide at our service sites. It is especially helpful to refer new faculty and graduate students. Since librarians no longer staff our service sites, they need our help in making these connections.

  • Use for questions from faculty, graduate students or anyone with questions about fair use in publishing, presentations, or film presentations outside of the classroom. Generally, anything other than “how much can I copy” or that is not straight forward in the Copyright Guide on the Libraries’ website should be referred to the Copyright Librarian.

  • This e-mail is for internal use only. Do not give this out to customers. Use for problems when customers are being asked for a login and password that is not a NetID with password and links not working from the Libraries’ website. When customers report that they cannot connect, always check to see if access if available in the library. Also verify that the customer is accessing this content by going through the Libraries’ website. If access is not available in the Library this likely a subscription or vendor issue.

Do not give this out to customers If you have faculty who are asking about e-book licensing (e.g. expanding licenses, we cannot find out how many users a book can have, etc.) please get their contact information and send an email to resources@lib.arizona.edu .

Filming inside the library: Direct users to our film/photography permission form and Kenya will respond within 48 hours.

  • If students, campus employees, news outlets, or a production company request permission to film inside our buildings, you can direct them to the Request Permission to Film and/or Photograph Form on the library website. This form will be directed to MarComm. Kenya Johnson, Director, Marketing Communications & Events at kdjohnson@email.arizona.edu & University Communications oversees and approves requests for filming on campus.

Open Access Open Access encompasses a number of services the Library provides. The contact information for each is different.

  • Use for questions that you are unable to answer, takes more research or time than can be managed at the service desk. You may also refer the customer to a liaison librarian if it is appropriate.

Resource Sharing & Interlibrary Loan: LBRY-askddt@email.arizona.edu

  • Use for problems with incorrect documents provided, problems with ILL accounts, overdue items, ILL fines.  Before referring a question, be sure to check the Library’s website for information about these services. Many questions can be answered by consulting these pages. Also, there is a web form for submitting requests for video streaming. Look for this information under Borrow & Request>Request Materials or http://new.library.arizona.edu/request.

  • Use the About Streaming Video page for questions intructors might have about the requesting process. It also contains helpful links such as "Request a D2L Course Page."
  • The Film Screening on Campus page has infomation about streaming content available through UA libraries. Information about streaming from personal accounts and aquiring permission for educational screenings from Netflix is also available on this page. 

Tours: The Library is unable to provide tours because of staff limitations. The Main Library is included in tours provided by the University. Information is available at http://www.arizona.edu/visit. High School and K-8 teachers with specific requests may be referred to Jennifer Church-Duran.
