How do I know if an article is significant in my field?


Along with considering an article’s relevance and credibility, you will also want to consider its significance. You can do this by looking at a particular article’s citation history.

You can see this by looking at the article in Google Scholar. Look for "cited by ..." under the citation. This tells you how many times the article has been cited.


See what other publications by have been written by the article's author(s).


You can also look at the ranking of the journal where the research is published.
