Question and Answer

Why is it so cold in the library?

There’s a reason they say cardigans are the lab coats of library science!

It’s important for us to keep library temperatures low to preserve our physical materials and keep our technology from overheating. To keep materials in mint condition, experts recommend a stable temperature of 70 degrees or lower. However, for the comfort of our students and staff, we follow the University standard of 74 degrees.

So do what librarians do! Bring a cardigan, sip on something warm from Starbucks, and find a sunny spot near the windows!
